Conscious Books: A Leader in New Consciousness

Posted on March 30, 2017 at 12:30 PM

Meet one of the women who inspired the incredible Louise Hay's lifetime work: Florence Scovel Shinn. Florence found her writing pen during her middle age years after a divorce, and by following her emerging voice she became a leader in the New Thought Movement in the 1920's. She boldly shared the importance of thoughts, spoken words, the cycles of success, and introduced the Law of Attraction as the energetic force behind our lives. Her metaphysical wisdom was radical at the time, and paved a new road for millions to walk down.

Her first bestseller was originally self-published in 1925 as The Game of Life and How to Play It. She went on to write two more books building on this "new age" wisdom. Florence often referenced the Bible, anecdotal real-life examples, and reiterated the importance of positive thought and affirmations as beacons of light for staying focused on your life dreams. Her advice is timeless and highly relevant to the spiritual consciousness that is emerging today. I just adore her insights, wisdom and motivational perspective.

If you're looking to dive into Florence's brilliance, this book is an excelleent resource. Works included in this timeless collection include her three books and another piece that was published in 1940 after her death:

  • The Game of Life and How to Play It
  • The Secret Door to Success
  • The Power of the Spoken Word
  • Your Word Is Your Wand

The book is scrolling in the sidebar on your right and links to a great price on Amazon if you're interested!

A few of my favorite words of wisdom from Florence:

"Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and, often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement."

"I have a perfect work

In a perfect way;

I give a perfect service

For perfect pay."

"My lamps are now filled with the oil of faith and fulfillment."

"All the good that is to be made manifest in man's life is already an accomplished fact in Divine mind, and is released through man's recognition, or spoken word, so he must be careful to decree that only the Divine Idea be made manifest, for often he decrees through his idle words, failure or misfortune."

Enjoy this classic!
