Put on your hardhats and steel-toe boots, boys and girls. We’re going down into the dungeon.
More specifically, you are going down into your personal dungeon. Alone. No flashlight. No back-up plan. No extra granola bars. Only your savvy, passion, and desire for greater self-knowing tied around your belt and providing comfort. The Scorpio energy within each of us just loves this opportunity to delve into our inner workings and discover what we have not seen before.
Thursday’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio at 6 degrees is an intense powerhouse of themes: emotional depths, Self-Truth, Illumination around unconscious emotional patterns, responsibility, questioning our value systems, evaluating where we have invested time and energy, and an opportunity to Love ourselves more.
This is the first of three eclipses in a row and interestingly, two of them are the opposite points of the eclipses we had in November. April and May provide an energetic balancing point to the changes we experienced in late fall, as well as an opportunity to look at how much we have learned about ourselves in the process, what Truths were revealed, and where we initiated new levels self-understanding. This eclipse is also the first major influx of energy since the December 21, 2012 shift (yes, stronger than the Spring Equinox), and provides the opportunity to get more grounding. Some questions to throw at you as you stand there in your hardhat:
What do you need to let go of in order to realign with your new upgraded value system?
Are you lying to yourself about something? Are you manipulating others to get your needs met? Are you stealing energy from others because you haven’t put in the time and effort to fortify your own core?
Where are you engaged in a power struggle, internally or externally, in order to maintain the illusion of control instead of Trusting that the Universe has your back?
It’s time to get a grip on these unconscious patterns and work with them, or else the consequences of your energy will come back around with a force and vengeance to get your attention (and with Scorpio, things can get fierce.) Yet Scorpio is intense for good reason: The Truth of who you are is so much grander than anything you can control, or manipulate, or out-smart, or avoid, or fear.
And just for the record, hiding You is a form of control: attempting to control what other people think, say, post, Tweet, blah, blah, blah. It's time to Love more, release more.
The Moon in Scorpio conjunct Saturn is about taking emotional responsibility for your deep needs and inner work. Saturn is retrograde, so this is an internal job. The authority is within you regardless of external events. Also, be mindful about throwing your emotions around outside of you. Time to reel those tentacles back in. You are being pushed and shoved to acknowledge where your Soul is ready to release the past and merge with your Soul’s plan.
But ya know what? Transformation can be scary to the Ego-Mind. (“Ahhhh!! I don’t know the destination! It’s dark in here and I can’t see my own hands! I don’t know what’s going to happen next! I don’t know what’s going to come up that I will have to look at and deal with and acknowledge!! I’m going to DIE. Ahhhh, give me coffee, wine, water, anything!”)
If resistance, denial, confusion, fear, whatever comes up for you – ya know, all that stuff we so easily see in others first – let it. Let it all exist and scream and shout and ball its eyes out. You’re stronger and braver than any of those things, anyway, so you can let them be heard without any of it really rocking your Soul’s awesomeness.
And pssst….there is one consistent element you can rely on during big life changes. And although I’m tempted to sell this wisdom to you for $9.99 plus shipping + handling, I’ll throw it in as today’s freebie. The answer is…. your heart. In conjunction with your breath, whis amazing system has been going in-and-out, in-and-out long before a burger joint had the same idea. Your breath supports you ALL THE TIME as your heart continues to pump and beat and rock the casbah multiple times a minute because your body is constantly transforming, digesting, growing, moving, and drinking coffee. Your heart knows what’s up. (You should listen to it more.)
And in beautiful Divine fashion, all of these inner changes and self-transformations are connecting us to our Destiny even more. We have supportive help from Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, which I feel as our Higher Selves running the show, revealing the way and waiting patiently as we move along the path. Plus, Pluto in Capricorn is guarding the process like a grand Father who knows we always have personal authority and responsibility for our own work.
We also have our stable Bull on the other end of the equation (pasture). The Sun in Taurus is about keeping things simple and practical and lovely with a fine glass of Montrachet in hand and brilliant music playing in the background. Taurus does not want to get dirty and muddy, and certainly won’t put on a pair of steel-toe shoes (at least not without asking what brand they are first). This is the part of you that needs to connect to nature, daily pleasures, and all the luxurious things that make you deliciously You. Apply lots of self-Love as you meet new parts of yourself. Pass the bottle of Montrachet around.
The Sun is conjunct Mars so tempers could be UP, and both planets oppose Saturn and the Moon. It's a lot of energy with STOP signs and red lights and hold your horses all thrown in together. The intensity is there and it will show up in your life depending on where 6 degrees Scorpio/6 degrees Taurus falls in your astrology chart. If it's in your 1st and 7th houses, emotions around relationship may be front and center. If it's in your 3rd and 9th houses, watch those emails you send! Mature, high-vibe responsibility with our energy is the name of the game.
My biggest intuitive hits about this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse are that 1) We are already in it. 2) We are going to be making deep changes that reveal the Truth of who we are after lifetimes of playing small, being persecuted, DYING, and living in fear about our power.
As with all Full Moons and Lunar Eclipses, be mindful of the emotional balance point. Go full and deep into self-transformation and then come back up for air (breathe!) and put your painted toes up on the ottoman with an awesome book. Reinforce your beautiful Self and know you are loved deeply through all of the changes. Your Divine Support Team is right there and ready to assist in any ways you need. They can’t do the work for you – because they respect and love you too much! – but they can bring you the resources, people, inspiration and good things to make it easier. So ask for support and merge with their power as your own (another Scorpio theme).
Eclipse energy can be felt months and weeks in advance, but it really pumps up when the Sun enters the same zodiac sign. In this case, since Saturday April 20th when the astrological sign of Taurus commenced. And the effects of an eclipse can last a long time because they are a big burst of energy infusing the planet, our auras, and everything in between. We will return to the themes of this eclipse in late July when the Sun in Leo will square the 6 degrees mark, and then again in September when Saturn will be moving forward and pass over this same degree of Scorpio.
Also, since the Moon in Scorpio is at 6 degrees and needs to move through a total of 30 degrees, we can expect the energy to continue until at least Saturday, April 27th when the Moon moves into Sagittarius. Then we’ll be ready to make grand statements about what we found in our dungeons, and philosophize about the changes we need to make, and go off to explore a bigger version of Self. Groovy.
Guess what? Another eclipse is coming up on May 9th and if you meet me back here, I shall spill the beans about why the Taurus Solar Eclipse is part of a process to elevate your Self-Love.
And by the way, you look incredibly fabulously in your hardhat.
